Where can I find reviews of your business?

Does color analysis WORK FOR EVERYONE?

Yes, that is one of the many beautiful things about color analysis — it works for everyone, regardless of skin tone, ethnicity, or race. During your appointment, we’ll talk about which of the commonly-shared color analysis “rules” and “tips” are unnecessarily limiting and/or flat-out incorrect - including those that are problematically white-centric.

One thing to keep in mind is that color analysis results are consistent over your lifetime (meaning, your season never changes) only after you’ve gone through puberty (which is different for everyone of course, but typically around age 15/16 is when you’re good to go.) As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

WHICH COLOR ANALYSIS METHOD DO YOU USE?

I use a 22-season flow color analysis system - which combines the 16-season color analysis system (12 sub-season + 4 “true” types) + flow system as a framework. But, I also keep the analysis flexible, applying Munsell-based color theory to individually analyze your unique coloring and provide you with a personalized interpretation of your best color season and palette — without forcing us to be “boxed in” by the 22 sub-seasons if you end up slightly outside of a traditional sub-season.

Here are the 22 sub-seasons we’ll use as a framework:

  1. True Winter

  2. Cool Winter

  3. Deep Winter

  4. Bright Winter

  5. True Spring

  6. Bright Spring

  7. Light Spring

  8. Warm Spring

  9. True Autumn

  10. Warm Autumn

  11. Deep Autumn

  12. Soft Autumn

  13. True Summer

  14. Soft Summer

  15. Light Summer

  16. Cool Summer

  17. Cool Flow

  18. Warm Flow

  19. Light Flow

  20. Deep Flow

  21. Bright Flow

  22. Soft Flow

DO YOU HAVE WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS?

Yes I do! But my weekend appointments fill up quite quickly, which is why you may not be seeing weekend appointments on the booking calendar.

Feel free to sign up for the “Weekend Waitlist” mailing list (at the bottom of my booking page) to receive an email when/if there is an opening on a Saturday or Sunday.

My FAMILY/Friend(S) and I want to book a small group appointment, but we’re interested in different add-ons - how does that work?

I totally understand that you and your friends/family might have different interests, and we want to be sure that we are choosing the right add-ons for each of you, based on those unique interests!

Because of the structure of my appointments, I am unfortunately unable to accomodate different add-ons at the same time. I would recommend booking the small group color analysis appointment together, and then schedule your separate Add-On services for a different day/time in the “Previous Client Add-On” section of the booking page. Thanks for your understanding!

If you are all interested in the same add-on however, then that is completely fine! Feel free to book your desired Add-On at the time you book your main service.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME TO MY COLOR ANALYSIS APPOINTMENT? /

can I invite guests to my color analysis party/EVENT that aren’t going to get analyzed?

I am unfortunately only able to accomodate guests who have a booked appointment at this time. This is because a significant part of your service includes education and application pieces that anyone in the room would receive, regardless if I drape them or not. Thank you for your understanding.

Note: this does not apply to minors (age 17 and under) and to clients whose accessibility needs require an additional person to accompany them.

WHAT is your pet policy?

Due to the limitations of my studio space, I am unfortunately unable to allow pets.

I saw you have TRAVEL FEES FOR 4+ PERSON COLOR ANALYSIS PARTIES that are BEYOND a 9-mile radius of central berkeley — HOW much can I expect to pay?

If your color analysis party/event is within 9 miles of Central Berkeley, your travel fee is included in the price of the service.

If your color analysis party/event is beyond 9 miles of Central Berkeley, travel fees are calculated as $2 per minute it takes to travel to you and back (beyond the included 9-mile radius from Central Berkeley) + the roundtrip cost of gas and tolls. Exact fee will be calculated based on the address you provide during booking.

WHAT DOES THE VENUE FOR MY COLOR ANALYSIS PARTY/EVENT NEED TO HAVE?

I bring nearly everything to you! The only thing you will need to provide is sufficient space directly in front of a medium to large -sized window and a chair for the person being analyzed to sit in.

WHY DO YOUR BASIC ANALYSIS SERVICES NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE INFORMATION ON HAIR, MAKE-UP, REVAMPING YOUR WARDROBE, ETC.?

All analysis appointments include brief discussions on how to apply color analysis when making decisions about hair, make-up, and developing a cohesive wardrobe. However, some color analysis clients aren’t interested in in-depth information on these particular topics and I don’t believe they should have to hear about (or pay for!) information that doesn’t feel relevant to them.

Offering Add-On services that can be chosen a-la-carte ensures that your color analysis appointment is tailored to you and your specific needs. It also keeps the main service fee at a more accessible rate for those who are not interested in additional consultation topics.

If you are on the fence about booking an Add-On service with your main color analysis appointment, you are more than welcome to wait until after your main service appointment before making a decision. Should you decide to book an add-on-service at that point, we can schedule your chosen Add-On service together from there, or you can book anytime afterwards on my website.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions!

What should I wear (or avoid wearing) to my color analysis appointment?

Clothes — Feel free to wear any color top that is not a turtleneck or mockneck, as I will be using a drape to neutralize whatever color you’re wearing while I am analyzing you. If you wear a headscarf, turban, or other head covering, please wear a light neutral color (e.g. beige, white, cream, etc.) if possible.

Face products — Please do not wear any tinted face products or makeup (including tinted moisturizers/SPFs, foundation, concealer, BB/CC creams, color correctors, blush, bronzer, contour, or mascara). It can really affect the results!

Glasses — If you are person that wears contacts and glasses, wearing contacts to your appointment can help you to more easily see the changes in your face as we test different colors on you. But, if you only wear glasses, we can be flexible and accommodate for them.
