MISSION & APPROACH
At Colors With Kate, I aim to help every client break through the noisy world of color analysis to find the color season & sub-season that best harmonizes with their unique features and coloring.
I will provide each client with the tools (not rules!) to use color to improve their confidence and their wardrobe - without expecting anyone to start from scratch, to break the bank, or to wear colors that don’t actually speak to them and their sense of style.
My Color Analysis Process
-
LEARN
It all starts with mutual learning. You will learn the basic color theory behind color analysis and the key elements of the 22 color season system. I will learn what brought you to color analysis and what your personal goals are. My aim is always to make color analysis work for you, not the other way around.
-
DISCOVER
Next, we will use a series of drapes to discover how your unique features react to different colored fabrics to identify your best color season and sub-season. I’ll also provide you with a personalized interpretation of your results throughout the process. Then, you’ll have the option to add-on any additional services that speak to your needs & lifestyle.
-
APPLY
Lastly, I’ll guide you through how to best apply color analysis in real life. You’ll learn practical tips about when it’s most impactful to consider your colors (and how to!) vs. when it’s not, and easy shopping tips. The goal is to add more confidence, simplicity, and fun to your wardrobe without feeling boxed in to unnecessary “rules” that don’t work for you.
Color lives on a spectrum, and so do people! Knowing no two people are exactly the same, I use a 22-season flow color analysis system - which combines the 16-season color analysis system (12 sub-season + 4 “true” types) + 6 tonal/flow system as a framework to help us find the color palette that best harmonizes with your unique coloring.
At the same time, I keep the analysis flexible, applying Munsell-based color theory to individually analyze your unique coloring and provide you with a personalized interpretation of your best color season and palette — without forcing us to be “boxed in” by the 22 sub-seasons if you end up slightly outside of a traditional sub-season. Long story short - I fit the system to YOU, not the other way around.
Here are the 22 sub-seasons we’ll use as a framework:
